The "Open GL 3.3" and "-1018" error messages may occur during install process or when launching an ON1. This problem is a Windows specific issue and is easily resolved by updating the GPU Driver and configuring the ON1 program to run off of the high performance GPU. However, you will first need to make sure your machine meets our minimum requirements. The full system requirements to run our current programs can be found here.
Your machine must support Open GL 3.3 or higher with at least 256 Mb of dedicated video memory. If you are not sure whether your machine's GPU supports Open GL 3.3 or above, you will need to check the manufacturer's website.
Once you have confirmed your GPU is compatible, you will need to update your GPU driver and reinstall the ON1 application to fix this error. You will be able to download and install the latest GPU driver from AMD, NVIDIA or Intel's website by clicking the link below:
It is critical that you visit the manufacturer's website to download the latest driver update directly from them as updating thru the Windows Updater build into your OS will not give you the latest driver.
After updating your GPU driver, please reinstall your ON1 program. You will be able to download the most current version from our Downloads for Owners page or from within your User Account on our website.
When the download is complete, please right click on the .exe file and choose "Run as the Administrator" to launch the installer.
After completing the install, if your machine has a dedicated GPU from AMD or NVIDIA, please open the NVIDIA or AMD Control Panel (depending on what brand is installed on this machine) and make sure your ON1 program is configured to run exclusively off of this GPU. Here is some more information on how to do so:
Apply these changes within the AMD or NVIDIA Control Panel and reboot your machine.
Please note, if your machine does not have a dedicated GPU from AMD or NVIDIA and is equipped with the built-in Intel HD Graphics, please disregard the steps mentioned above to configure the program to run exclusively off of the AMD or NVIDIA GPU. Windows machines that have both a dedicated GPU (from AMD or NVIDIA) and the built in Intel Graphics are the only machines that need to be configured to run off of one GPU.
