Perfect Photo Suite 8 Premium Edition and older versions

If you are using an older version of ON1 plug-ins (Perfect Photo Suite 8 or earlier), you will no longer have access to those ON1 plug-ins after installing the Adobe Creative Cloud 2015.5 update. Additional FAQs

Q: I just installed the Photoshop 2015.5 update, where are my ON1 Plug-ins?

A: With the 2015.5 update, Adobe has changed the location where they install the Photoshop application and where plug-ins are loaded from. Previously installed plug-ins are not migrated to the new locations.

Q: Can’t just reinstall ON1 Photo 10?

A: Unfortunately no, the new installation locations require an updated installer from ON1 to located the new version of Photoshop correctly. A free update, ON1 Photo 10.5.1, will be available in the new few days which will detect Photoshop 2015.5 and install correctly into it.

Q: Am I going to have to reinstall my ON1 plug-ins every time Adobe updates Photoshop now?

A: No, actually this change from Adobe is welcomed. In the past, with each major (and some minor) updates to Photoshop you needed to reinstall your plug-ins. The location where the plug-ins loaded from was located inside of the application folder. Now the plug-ins are installed into a common, shared location (similar to the way Lightroom works) that all versions of Photoshop will load from. This means in the future you won’t have to reinstall your plug-ins.

Q: I have an older version of the plug-ins from ON1, what do I do?

A: Discontinued legacy products are not upgraded. You will need to upgrade to ON1 Photo 10 to work with Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5 and higher. You can continue to use your legacy version as a standalone application as well.

Q: Can I manually move the old plug-in files to the new location?

A: You may. Keep in mind that only ON1 Photo 10.5.1 was been tested and is officially supported in Photoshop 2015.5. If you want to manually move the legacy plug-ins and support files to the following locations, they may work for you. Click here to view the steps for how to manually move your Perfect Photo Suite 9 Premium plugins into Creative Cloud 2015.5.
