Photoshop Cs6, CC, CC 2015 and CC 2017 - Photo 10.5 and Photo RAW Plugins

This knowledge base article will explain how to launch the Photo 10 and Photo RAW 2017 modules as a plugin from Adobe Photoshop. There are couple important things to note prior to looking for the plugins.

The following modules will be listed under the Filters Menu in Adobe Photoshop if the plugin has been installed correctly. These are the only plugins that will install for the Photo 10.5 and Photo RAW 2017:

Photo 10.5 plugins:

ON1 Effects 10

ON1 Enhance 10

ON1 Portrait 10

Here are the plugins that will appear under the Filters Menu for Photo RAW 2017:

ON1 Develop 2017

ON1 Effects 2017

You will also be able to launch the plugins from Photoshop by going to File > Automate. The following Photo 10 modules will appear under the File > Automate Menu if the plugin has been installed correctly:

ON1 Effects 10

ON1 Enhance 10

ON1 Portrait 10

ON1 Resize 10

Here are the plugins that will appear under File > Automate for the Photo RAW 2017 if the plugins have been installed correctly:

ON1 Effects 2017

ON1 Develop 2017

On1 Resize 2017

**Important things to note when running the Photo 10/Photo RAW 2017 modules as a plugin from Adobe Photoshop**

1. The Layers module is not accessible as a plugin from Photoshop.

You will not see Layers as a plugin under the Filters Menu or the File > Automate Menu since you can do everything that the Layers module can do and more from inside Adobe Photoshop. When running the Photo 10 as an Adobe Photoshop plugin, Photoshop acts as the Layers module.

2. Browse is not accessible as a plugin from Adobe Photoshop

If you would like to use the Browse module you will need to launch the Photo 10 as a standalone application. Once you have opened the Photo 10 and are in the Browse module, you will be able to open an image in Adobe Photoshop by right-clicking on the image and choosing "Send to Other Application". Once you have selected an Application to send to, your recent applications will appear when you right-click on an image in Browse.

3. You will not be able to use the module selectors on the right side of the program after launching the plugin from Photoshop.

Please refer to the screenshot below. For example, if you launch the Effects module from the Filters Menu, you will notice that not all of the modules are selectable. You will be able to toggle between the Effects, Enhance and Portrait modules prior to saving your image back to Adobe Photoshop, but the Resize, Layers and Browse module selectors are not selectable. This is normal behavior.

Photo 10.5:

ON1 Photo RAW 2017:

Please remember, that the Layers and Browse module are not accessible as a plugin from Photoshop.

If you would like to resize this image from Adobe Photoshop, you will need to save the image back to Adobe Photoshop and launch the Resize plugin by going to File > Automate > ON1 Resize 10 or File > Automate > Resize 2017.

If you would like to have the ability to toggle between all of the Photo 10 and Photo RAW modules via the module selectors on the right at any point during your workflow, you will need to run the Photo 10/Photo RAW as a standalone application.

4. Saving your edited image as a different file format from Adobe Photoshop

By design, the Photo 10 and Photo RAW modules will save the edited image back to Adobe Photoshop as a separate layer (or apply the edits to whatever layer is selected prior to launching the plugin). If you would like to save the image as a different file type, you will be able to do so by exporting the image as a different format from Adobe Photoshop.

5. The ON1 Panel under Window > Extension has been discontinued with the release of Photo RAW 2017.

We have discontinued the ON1 Panel in Adobe Photoshop since Adobe has dropped support for the Adobe Extensions Manager. The Photo RAW 2017 plugins will not populate within the ON1 Panel in Adobe Photoshop. This is normal behavior. If you have the Photo 10.5 plugins installed and working in the ON1 Panel, you will be able to continue using the Photo 10.5 plugins this way, but there is no way to get the Photo RAW 2017 plugins to appear in the ON1 Panel. You will only be able to launch the ON1 Photo RAW plugins from Photoshop by going to File > Automate or the Filters menu. For more information, please click here

6. Unable to make changes to right side of the Resize module after launching the Resize plugin. Why is the crop tool automatically active?

If you are unable to make changes to the settings of the Resize module after launching the Adobe Photoshop plugin, please click here
