How to Install .xmp LUT Files into Lightroom

Please note, the .xmp files in the "For Lightroom" folder are only needed if you would like to install and use these LUTs in Lightroom. If your only concern is to install and use these LUTs inside ON1  Photo RAW 2018.8, you can disregard the files in this folder. How to Install .xmp LUT files into Lightroom:

This article will show you how to install the .xmp files included in an ON1 LUT pack into Lightroom. In this example, the .xmp files for the "Hudson Henry Core LUTs" are within the "For Lightroom" Folder shown in the screenshot below.

Mac Users:

Please open Finder. Click the Go Tab at the top, hold down the Option Key on your Keyboard and click "Library". Once you have clicked on "Library" from the Go Menu, please proceed to the "Settings" folder shown in the screenshot below. You will need to drag and drop all of the .xmp files into the "Settings" folder:

Once you have moved the .xmp files into the "Settings" Folder, please make sure to quit and relaunch Lightroom. 

 

Windows Users:

Please drag and drop the .xmp files into the "Settings" folder in the path below:

C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings

Please note, App Data is a Hidden Folder on Windows. Please make sure you enable hidden files and folders on your machine so you are able to open this folder:

Once you have copied the .xmp files to the "Settings" folder, please quit and relaunch Lightroom. 

 

How to access the LUTs inside Lightroom:

Once you have placed the .xmp files into the "Settings" Folder, you will be able to access them within Lightroom's Develop Module. However, you may need to restart Lightroom in order for the recently added LUTs to show up. After restarting Lightroom, open an image in Lightroom's Develop module and click on the icon shown in the screenshot below:

After clicking on the icon shown above, you should see the "Hudson Core LUTs" Category on the right:

Simply click to expand the "Hudson Henry Core LUTs" category, and select the LUT you want to apply:

How to access the LUTs within Adobe Photoshop/Adobe Camera RAW:

After you have placed the .xmp files into the "Settings" folder in the steps above, you will be able to access the "Hudson Henry Core LUTs" within Adobe Camera Raw. To access these LUTs via ACR, launch Adobe Photoshop and open a raw file you want to edit. When the ACR dialog appears, you will be able to access these LUTs here:

Next, simply click to expand the "Hudson Henry Core LUTs" category and choose the LUT you want to apply:

FAQs

Do I need to install the .xmp files into ON1 Photo RAW?

No. The .xmp files in the "For Lightroom" folder are only needed if you would like the LUTs to appear in Lightroom. For more help on how to install LUTs into ON1 Photo RAW from the .ONpreset file, please click here

 

What is the "for other programs" folder shown above? 

This folder contains the .CUBE files for the LUTs in the "Hudson Henry Core LUTs" pack. You will only need to worry about the files in this folder if you would like to install and use these LUTs in an application other than Lightroom or ON1 that supports .CUBE files.
