Q: Is the upgrade to ON1 Photo RAW 2019 a free upgrade?
A: We have one major release each year that is not free, and Photo RAW 2019 is a major release. Throughout the rest of the year (every 2-3 months) we offer free software updates, or "dot" releases, such as 2018.1, 2018.5, etc, which are completely free and add many new features not available in prior releases. If you are an active member of ON1 Plus Pro, you get all software updates and major upgrades for free, each year. Customers who purchase ON1 Photo RAW 2019 will receive all software updates over the next year for free, until the next major release. If you are an owner of any previous version (Photo Raw 2018, Photo 10.5, Effects 2018, Effects 10.5, Resize 2018 or Resize 10.5) you are eligible for upgrade pricing.
Q: I am an ON1 Plus member. Do I receive the ON1 Photo RAW 2019 upgrade as part of my ON1 Plus membership?
A: All major versions of ON1 Photo RAW, including version 2019, are free to Active ON1 Plus Pro members, and Photo RAW 2019 have been added automatically to Plus Pro members' accounts as of November 2018. Other types of ON1 Plus memberships including "ON1 Plus," (yearly or monthly recurring), "ON1 Plus Basic," and "The Ultimate ON1 Photography Bundle" (1 year with no recurring fees) do not include free upgrades to major releases such as Photo RAW 2019. However, all ON1 Plus members regardless of membership type have exclusive access to hundreds of premium editing videos and photography courses not available to the general public. And like all owners of any major version of Photo RAW, they receive free software updates throughout the year with new features added to the version they purchased (such as Photo RAW 2018.1, 2018.5, etc).
If you are an ON1 Plus membership but are not sure which membership type you purchased, you can view the status of your ON1 Plus membership here.

Q: What is an .onphoto file?
A: An .onphoto file is a proprietary ON1 format that is created when certain functions or commands require us to create a new file. Merging HDR, stitching Panorama, and creating a Layered file document will all create .onphoto files. These can be Exported to a more universal format for sharing such as .jpeg through the ON1 Export dialog.
