Q: What if I don't use raw files? Can I still use ON1 Photo RAW 2019.6?
A: YES! YES! YES! ON1 is an excellent choice as your primary photo editor even if you are not editing raw files. It works great for many other supported image files including TIFF, PSD, PSB, JPG, PNG, and Apple HEIC files.

Q: How do I import my photos into ON1?
A: When you open ON1 Photo RAW 2019.6 you will immediately see this is better than your typical editor. At the heart of the application sits an ultra-fast photo browser. You simply navigate to where your photos exist (local hard drive, external hard drive, cloud, etc.) and they will appear in ON1. All without having to import anything. It goes beyond fast browsing though. We do have a way for customers to import, manage, and catalog their photos as well.
Q: I own an older ON1 product. How is this different?
A: All of the older ON1 "modules" are now integrated in one app. You can now do all of your editing in one place instead of separate modules. Photo RAW incorporates all of the features from ON1 Effects, Resize/Genuine Fractals, and all version of Perfect Photo Suite, Photo 10, and early versions of Photo RAW. New features include HDR, pano, integrated Layers, AI Quick Mask, Portrait, etc. It's faster and better in every way.
Q: Will I lose my older version of ON1 if I install this one?
A: No. ON1 Photo RAW 2019.6 will install side-by-side with older versions so you can transition at your own pace.
Q: Do I need to install a previous version prior to installing the ON1 Photo RAW 2019 upgrade?
A: No. The upgrade installer is the same as the full installer and does not require any previous version on your machine prior to the install.
Q: Do I need to uninstall a previous version prior to installing the ON1 Photo RAW 2019 upgrade?
A: No, this is not recommended. Installing the ON1 Photo RAW 2019 upgrade on top of your previous version will ensure that all of your presets and extras are migrated over to ON1 Photo RAW 2019 during installation.

A: Yes, all of your presets, LUTs and extras will migrate over to the new ON1 Photo RAW 2019 when you install it on the same machine as the previous version. If you are installing ON1 Photo RAW 2019 on a new machine, you will need to reinstall your presets and extras.
Q: What will happen to my Cataloged Folders and Albums in ON1 Photo RAW 2018? Will these appear in ON1 Photo RAW 2019?
A: Yes. All of your Cataloged folders information, Albums and Smart Albums will migrate over to ON1 Photo RAW 2019 when you install the 2019 upgrade on the same machine as your previous version.

Q: How can I create a Version from an .onphoto file with Layers?
A: You can not create a version of an .onphoto file that has layers in it. You must first flatten the image inside the Edit module. In the Edit module go to the top menu bar and select Layer > Merge Visible. If you do not want to flatten the layers you could alternatively right click on the file and choose Duplicate. This will duplicate the file, leaving you with two files on your disk.
Q: How do I access Extras in ON1 Photo RAW 2019?
A: You can view and add Extras to any open document in the Edit module, click Layer > Add Layer from File to open up a file browser window on-screen, letting you choose either installed Extras, or any file from your computer.
Q: How do I apply a color fill layer?
A: There is no menu command for creating a Color Fill Layer in ON1 Photo RAW 2019 but there is a way to get a solid colored canvas. First open an image, go to the Edit module and click the Local Tab, select “Paint with Color” choose your color and paint the entire canvas.

A: An .onphoto file is a proprietary ON1 format that is created when certain functions or commands require us to create a new file. Merging HDR, stitching Panorama, and creating a Layered file document will all create .onphoto files. These can be Exported to a more universal format for sharing such as .jpeg through the ON1 Export dialog.
