New Standalone Functionality
Single Image Edit Mode
Single Image Edit Mode – If you just want to quickly edit one photo, this mode makes getting in and out a breeze. Just drag the photo onto the app (or send it from another app like a plug-in) and it goes straight into Edit. When you are done, just press save and you can pick where and how your results are saved, no need to export.
Browse vs Catalog Tabs
Browse vs Catalog Tabs – We've separated fast browsing mode and cataloged folders mode into their own tabs in Browse. This makes it easier to understand how cataloged folders work and hides stuff that can get in your way.
Search Enhancements
Search Enhancements – We've added a simple search right to the breadcrumbs bar at the top of Browse. You can also choose which cataloged folders to search, instead of all of them.
Improved First-Run Experience
Improved First-Run Experience – If you are using ON1 Photo RAW for the first time, it can be hard to figure out how to get to your photos. Do you browse or import? The the getting started dialog guides you through it. This window has three options:
• Edit a Single Photo: clicking this button will give you the MacOS or Windows file-selection dialog, where you can navigate to a specific photo. Once you’ve chosen an image, Photo RAW will open that photo directly within the Edit module (starting with the Develop tab). You have access to all the editing tools, and when you’re done editing, you’ll be asked to save a copy of the edited version of your photo. (See “Working in the Edit Module” on page 59 for information of the User Guide on editing photos.)
• Browse a Folder: this button will open the file-selection dialog for your computer. There, you can navigate to a specific folder of photos. Clicking the Open button in that dialog will display that folder’s photos in the Browse Preview area.
• Catalog Your Photos: clicking this button will let you choose a folder to be cataloged by Photo RAW. This folder (and any subfolders of photos within it) will be added to the My Catalogs pane. (See “Cataloged Folders” on page 28 of the User Guide for specifics on creating cataloged folders.)
The Getting Started window can be accessed at any time by clicking the ‘+’ button in the Shortcuts section on the left side of the Browse window (see “Using Shortcuts” on page 29 of the User Guide), or via the Help menu.
* NOTE: The Getting Started window can be accessed at any time by clicking the ‘+’ button in the Shortcuts section on the left side of the Browse window (see “Using Shortcuts” on page 29 of the User Guide), or via the Help menu.
Double-Click Functionality:
After installing the 2020.1 update, the first time you click on a thumbnail in Browse, you'll be prompted with the following dialogue:
The current default behavior of ON1 PHOTO RAW 2020 is to Zoom In. By changing this to Edit, every time you double click on an image in Browse, it will instead open into the Edit modules. You can change behavior in for one or the other in the ON1 PHOTO RAW 2020>Preferences pane.
