This article covers the Import basics for copying your images from your SD or CF card to your computer to Browse and Edit using ON1 PHOTO RAW.
WE RECOMMEND USING A CARD READER OR INTERNAL CARD SLOT FOR IMPORTING
When you use a card reader or internal card slot your cameras memory card should appear under the Local Drives pane.
*Best Practices Tip: NEVER EDIT IMAGES DIRECTLY ON YOUR CF OR SD CARD
You want to first copy the images from your card to your computer before doing any Editing. Editing images directly on the card is a good way to loose edits and cause corruption on the card.
File>Import
Click the File menu and choose Import to bring up the Import Window.
The Import Window
Select your card from the Source dropdown
By default all of your images will be selected for Import. You can choose the Check All or Check None buttons to manually select images, or select all images. If you only want to import a few images, click the Check None, and then manually click on the radio check boxes to add and select the few images you want to Import
Destination
You'll then want to select and choose the Destination for where you want your files to be Imported to.
Click on the Location dropdown to select where you want your images to be copied and imported to.
In this example I've created a folder on the Desktop called MY CANON IMPORT 2020
You can also choose to have a new folder created when you Import.
Here I've enabled and created a new folder called March 2020.
Then click the Import button to have your images Imported to the location you've set.
Imported Files
You will then be taken to the Import location in the main Browse Window where your images have been Imported to. In this example the location is:
Users/Stevie/Desktop/MY CANON IMPORT 2020/MARCH 2020
