ON1 PHOTO RAW - Delete Settings or Reset ON1 PHOTO RAW is often used when the app may start behaving erratically or functions or tools do not seem to be working correctly.
'Delete Settings'
This can often be corrected by 'Deleting the Settings' file.
Quit the app, then hold down the Shift key while you launch the app again.
This will prompt you will a dialogue to 'Delete Settings'
Click the Delete Settings button and this will launch ON1 PHOTO RAW resetting the preferences back to their default settings.
Deleting the settings will not remove any of your cataloged folders, albums etc.
This will just delete the preference file that can sometimes get corrupted.
'Reset ON1 PHOTO RAW'
Note: Resetting ON1 PHOTO RAW will nuke all catalogs, albums and databases.
Proceed with caution when doing this. You can't undo this operation.
If for some reason the app is crashing on startup, won't launch or you want to start with a fresh database, you can use the 'Reset ON1 PHOTO RAW'
This will nuke all caches, databases catalogs and albums.
You'd need to recreate any catalogs and albums for any that were created in ON1 PHOTO RAW.
(*Note: If ON1 PHOTO RAW 2022 is still installed, catalogs, albums, presets would all be remigrated after doing so)
Quit the app and then on relaunch hold down the shift key.
This will prompt you to "Reset ON1 PHOTO RAW"
Click the "Reset ON1 PHOTO RAW" button.
WARNING:
This will **RESET AND REMOVE ALL THE PROGRAMS CATALOGED FOLDERS,
ALBUMS AND CACHES**
But WILL NOT harm your images or edits.
Note:
If you have any cataloged folders or albums, you would need to recreate these after doing this.
The 'Reset ON1 PHOTO RAW' can often correct larger issues with corrupted databases that are preventing the app from launching or crashing.
