Supported video cards & performance of PR 2023 beyond my system spec
I am using a Windows PC with a GEForce GTX 1050ti video card. I recently updated the driver after putting up with poor performance for years. PR 2022 has worked well since that driver update. I recently upgraded to PR2023 and after forgetting to apply the Video card to the 2023 version and suffering terrible editing lags and crashes, thought I had the application performing well.
Today it has begun crashing on loading files for edit and has become unusable. I thought the answer might be to uninstall and reinstall. To be sure of a clean install I deleted the previous exe. and went to ON1 website to download a fresh exe. I noticed the alert to supported video cards and checked it out. It seems ON1 has upgraded to a higher level of video cards (Open GL 4.1 and above) no doubt because of the grunt needed for AI edits.
I have therefore reverted to PR 2022.
I am very disappointed but accept that such programs must inevitably move beyond my 2016 model PC.
Good luck.

I'll keep messing with it, it may be me doing something incorrectly somehow. I don't think I'm doing anything differently than what I was doing a couple of days ago though, the software surely seems to be functioning differently and doing this weird masking thing.
It's as if I clicked something wrong a day or so ago and turned the ssai to be the default and the ssai won't allow me to mask anything manually or use the quick mask tool?????

Jim, try hitting the Z key to release any brush. I picked that up recently watching one of Dillon's videos.

The problem I'm having is creating a brush to do any masking at all, the ssai just takes over. I'm not able to turn it off and or stop it from automatically being the default masking tool. It's like its stuck in the on position all the time especially when I try to just use the last versions quick mask.
I'd almost have to make a video to show you what this is doing, I'm having a hard time trying to explain it.

Have you tried Delete Settings?

There's actually a couple of filters, the color enhancer for example that the ssai is not the default and I can immediately click the mask box and brush in my own mask. Several other filters won't allow me to do this, the ssai just is over-taking all masking options for several filters.

I just did that Brian and rebooted my computer and it's working now. WTF????????
I've never seen a glitch like this since PR2018!!!!

That means all editing that has been applied has been undone. Correct? I hope you havn't lost too much work and in any case if the program is now working properly then worth the sacrifice! I have hovered over this command myself on occasions and sometimes not applied it, but that and the reboot seem to be a remedy when things are this bad..
