Try this article. The helper app is mentioned down at the bottom.

Thanks for that Rick. On further investigation I think it is because the latest version On1 Raw (2023) doesn't support/provide plug-ins . I have checked Plug ins to enable helper and there is nothing there. Have attached screen shot. It looks like I have to buy the plug in bundle which is a bit cheeky if that is the case. Will have a further think

Those Preferences settings are meant to allow other program’s Photoshop plugins to be used in Photo RAW. That is where I’ve loaded my Topaz and Filter Forge plugins.

Peter, If you have the full version of PR 2023 it will not work as a plugin. I don't use Apple Photos but you should be able to use "Send To Other Application" from the browse window. That will create a psd, tiff or dng and send it depending on how your preferences are set. If you want to use PR as a plugin you are correct you need to purchase the plugin. If you only want to use PR as a plugin you could try contacting customer support and they may refund your purchase OF PR 2023 so you can buy the pulgins.

Peter, it would help if we knew exactly which program(s) you have. You start off by saying, "I try to launch ON1 Portrait" which implies you have the plug-in version of that program and it isn't working for you. Later you mention Photo RAW 2023 and show a screenshot from it which implies you do not have the plug-ins.

Thanks guys, appreciating the help. It's actually been a couple of years since I have seriously played with on1 and wow what an eye opener. I first started using it about 2014/5. Yes Brian you are right the portrait plug-in that I have in apple photos is PR'22  and I have just upgraded to the Photo Raw (PR) 2023(not plug ins) is which where I discovered the anomaly. On Davids advice I had a dig around and found that from photos I can open the "old" plug-ins by going to "Image/Edit with" but it doesn't save back into photos. I think I have to think about my workflow and how I can work between apple photos and PR2023. I am happy to use the all in one PR2023 but the plugs ins are handy a well. I like my apple photos especially as it has about 70,000 photos all catalogued and I am loathe to move from that process even though I enjoy PR2023 so much. Might have to dig around the on1 training videos and see if there is one that suits my dilemma and work flow. I will think about what David said and maybe just use it as a plug in with apple photos but I loose the all-in-one capability of PR2023. (Unless I am missing something) Here's hoping.......thanks guys (nice to meet you)

Mea culpa. I got bogged down in attempting an edit of my post and ended up deleting the whole thing. Should have just left it as it was. Poor forum etiquette on my part.
