Screen vs. Print Difference
Hello all. I know others have had a similar problem but I am unable to find an answer that works in my situation. So, I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks in advance.
I re-calibrated my monitor using Spyder Elite and adjusted brightness to the suggested 120 cd unit of measure. I have turned on "Enable Soft Proofing" and "Simulate Paper and Ink" in ON1's View Menu.
In the ON1 Print menu, I looked in the the proper paper profiles for the Canon papers I use to see if they are in the ON1 color profile list. They are not. My printer is also not listed there, but the printer model appears at the top of the Print menu, alongside the Setup button. Going into setup, when I click on the "Printer Media Information button, I get the message "failed to acquire media information." As an aside, in the color profile is a Canon printer model that I used about a year ago (MG7500) with ON1, and had been replaced by the Canon G620 series last February (2022.)
Though I have tried to find them, Canon does not offer the ICC paper profiles on their website and I could not find them anywhere since I wanted to see if I could download them into ON1. So, I began to wonder if they are somehow supposed to be known to ON1 when you do the print setup and select the specific Canon paper within the setup menu. I reviewed numerous YouTube videos on the screen vs. print issue (as this seems to be a common problem, but they are very technical. That said, some do mention the need to download ICC paper profiles (which Canon does not make available.)
