Retouching and AI masking
As the initial analysis of images to identify elements for AI masking is done when an image is loaded AI masks do not take retouching into account.
For example if a plane is erased from an image and then the sky is replaced there can be a plane shaped hole in the new sky.
For retouching other than healing brush I have found a work round. Do the retouching and then do a content aware crop this forces a re-analysis of the image that takes the retouching into account. If you don't want the content aware crop then go back into crop an uncheck the content aware radio button.
I have just added a suggestion to the PhotoRAW project that
- reanalysis should take healing brush changes into account
- there should be a way to trigger a reanalysis without having to use the content aware crop work around.

Good tip, thanks.
