ON1 Photo 2023 memory or graphics issue
I cannot open Tiff files over 200mb in size. I have ensured My GPU sees ON1 2023 via the adrenaline catalyst version 22.5.2.
Specs:
ON1 Photo 2023 ver 17.0.2.13102
Win 11 Home ver 10.0.22621 build 22621
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6 Core
64GB System RAM
AMD RX 6600 with 8GB RAM
When I attempt to open a Tiff file over 200mb in size the program freezes after the progress bar gets to about 75% blue and I eventually get an AMD driver timeout message. I am wondering if Photo 2023 isn't utilizing system and GPU memory and resources properly. I currently am using products from Affinity, Topaz, and Adobe that are having no problem with these files

I did also try the "Delete Settings" advice by launching photo 2023 while holding down the shift key. It did not help

I have submitted a ticket to technical support

For what it's worth, ON1 Photo Raw 2021 opens these same files without issue. Will try a complete uninstall and redownloading the installer.

2023 has far greater video card requirements than 2021 FWIW. Have you seen the Troubleshooting Tips Rick posted the other day?

My video card is well within requirements

I have been following the troubleshooting tips. The complete uninstall of all previous ON1 products including hidden folders is where I am currently at.
The problem is not limited to Tiff files. I tried a 160mb PNG file and got the same crash.

Where is Photo RAW's Scratch space located? How much free space is left on that drive?
Have you tried creating a new User account and running the program from there? That would check for incompatibilities with things you use beyond the OS stuff.

1.04 terabytes free on the scratch disk. Attempting a reinstall after restart

Yeah, no dice. I'm not impressed.

Ah. See now that's interesting. It will open Tiff files over 200mb that it creates. If all my other programs including ON1 photo raw 2021 can handle Tiffs that 2023 can't, you tell me where the problem is.

You'll have to discuss that with tech support. Now that you have some details, they'll have something to look at.

Ryan at tech support has been very responsive. While I wish the product was already past these teething problems, it is nice to see tech support is there and working on a fix.
