DNG edits reverting

Brand new M1 macbook pro. ON 2023

When I first started with it, it worked fine. I could edit a photo and export as a jpeg, and both the jpeg and the original DNG would save the edits. Something changed in the last couple of days, though, and now when I export the file as a jpeg, the original loses all edits and reverts back. 

I originally thought it might have to do with adding layers, but now it's doing it on photos that have just been cropped as well. Yes, I reset my settings, but it didn't make a difference.

I'd like to keep my edits and not have to start all over for every photo.

  So you are starting with a .dng file. You make some edits then add a Layer, is that right?

  It started out with a phtot that had a layer, but now it's reverting on photos that have been just cropped and nothing else. So, basically, all photos that I edit, whether they have layers or not, the dng file reverts after I export the jpeg. (the jpeg reflects the edited version, after clicking done, the dng does not) 

  At this point, it doens't matter if it has additional layers or not, it's everything.

  And you've opened the file back in the Editor to verify that the edits are truly gone and not just not being rendered in the preview?

  Have you tried to Delete Settings yet? If that doesn't work the next step would be to try the Reset ON1 Photo RAW 2023 function.

  Yes, I reopened it and it's the reverted file. And, yes, I did the delete settings. Didn't work.

  It seems to have something to do with the export. If I crop the photo and just click done, without exporting, the crop stays. If I just export the file, and then click done, it shows the exported edited file and the original unedited raw file. It was working fine when I downloaded it into this mac, and did so for a while, then something changed.

  The next step is the Reset ON1 Photo RAW option.

  Are you exporting from the Editor? It is recommended that you return to the Browser and Export from there. This insures your edits are saved in both the edits database and the .on1 sidecar file for that image.
