On1 2023 Exported TIFF & psd files not creating thumbnails

    The first place to start is with the Delete Settings File function. After that, here are more Troubleshooting Tips.

    Should have mentioned this is still happening even with a fresh install of 2023 on Win 11 - one of these computers is a new system.  Video drivers are up to date on both systems - nothing in the troubleshooter is helping & wiping the settings is not helping .  No issues viewing thumbnails in any other program.  The "GeForce Experience" is not seeing ON1 as a program that takes advantage of the card, and current the dashboard only allows me to add folders, not specific programs.

    Not sure why you're looking at the Graphic card for this, but if you want to set it up , this is the article you need...

    What happens if you select one of those images and Refresh Preview?

    I don't have this problem on my system (Windows 11, NVIDIA RTX 3060) not with PSD, not with TIF

    I also don't see ON1 PR as an application listed in and recognized by GeForce Experience.

    Does this happen with any PS or TIF file or only the ones you created inside Photo RAW?

    Did you select ON1 Photo RAW in these setting for the NVIDIA card?

     

    And did you do all the settings as described here?

    First, I would just try to find any PS or TIF file not created by you and see if this works. If this does not work, I would ask support for help. If this works, could you post a ps file for download to see what's happening with your file on my system

    Thank you Rick and Volker,

    I have added ON1 in the control panel (could not find it before for some reason) but this has not corrected the issue even after a reboot (newly created files have no thumbnail).  It is just tiffs & psd files that are created in on1 2023 - any other file reads fine - in fact if I copy one of these files and place on the other system, the thumbnail loads fine in 2023 - but manually moving the file (outside of on1) to another directory on the same system does not reset the thumbnail.

    The refresh preview does reload the thumbnail, so thank you for that.  This downgrades the issue for me from a frustration to a minor inconvenience, but still I'd like to not have to do this every time I export a large file.

    If the Refresh Preview works, then it's just a matter of Photo Raw being slow to update the browser, but everything is working as it should.

    I have to wonder why you're trying to view your Exported files in the Browser. Normally Exporting files indicates the end of the process and they are no longer needed inside of ON1. I would suggest that you keep those in a separate folder that's NOT in the path of the ON1 browser.

    Rick,

    Thanks - it should not take days to to refresh the thumbnail though, should it?   To answer your question - the file export to tif is not usually my last step for a couple of reasons:

    1) I use the tiff as a base 'final copy' and use versions of that file when making edits for printing on different paper types - I'll sometimes have two or three versions of an image that are optimized for size and paper type and/or screen.

    2) I've found that when exporting from raw to another file type, the sharpening changes - sometimes dramatically - and by doing my final sharpening in tif seems to give me a more accurate end result.

    I'm with Volker, I don't have this problem on my PC and I also have an RTX 3060. However I did have this problem on my old PC and I often had to force an update by moving folders around.

    The new PC doesn't have this problem, but it's the same program, so, whatever was causing it was tied to the hardware.

    If you've got your drivers up to date and the GPU set up for ON1, then all I can suggest is to go through the troubleshooting tips, maybe something there will help. The only other option past that is to contact ON1 support and ask them about it.

    I have had the same problem but with jpgs.  I have updated my graphics dirvers, done a clean install, but it doesn't cure the problem.  I have reported this but no one seems to be able to solve the problem on 2023 version.  I have no problem when when using the 2020 version as all the jpgs show OK.

    Do you still have no answer on this?  I am having this same problem with new install of Photo Keyword AI.  I am ready to ask for a refund if you never received an answer.

    Drew, you're posting to a 6 month old thread on a different program.

    Before you give up so quickly you should contact tech support. They may be able to help.

    Also, is your system up to the task? You haven't told us anything about it. Hard to help without the details needed.

    What kind of GPU does it have? Probably just an integrated.

    How do you know the program isn't already "pulled together" and the problem isn't that you're trying to run a Formula 1 race car on a dirt track? Or that there aren't some performance tweaks you need to make for optimal performance. You should talk to support. You have plenty of time. 30 days for your money back is still more than 20 days away.
