Slow Download Speed NAS

I am storing my photos on a NAS. I'm able to browse through photos at a relatively decent speed. However, it takes a minute to open one photo when I want to edit it. Has anyone else come across this issue? Is there a setting I can tweak to speed things up?

  Most are for Windows. Don't know if they will help with NAS or not.

  I had the same problem. Tried all kinds of things. Nothing really helped. Eventually transferred my files to an external SSD connected directly to the computer through USB 3.2. Made the world of a difference.

  NAS is fine for storage and backup but not as a medium for working on images.
