There are plenty of posts in the forum about this error. Just type Vulcan in the search box and you'll see.

Check this article about the error...

Rick Sammartino I saw those posts, and they were not the same errors that I have, so I asked.  I went to the links you provided, and did what was told, and still not working.  I don't have a Windows Install Error, I am able to install the application, but when I go to run it, I get that error.

The problem is that the program is calling a video card function that in turn is calling the Vulcan initialization code and that cannot be found. This is a video card drivers issue. The video card drivers installer also has to install the Vulcan libraries that it uses.

You said the drivers are up to date but from where? Windows updates are not always up to date where drivers are concerned. I recommend you get the latest drivers for your system from the NVIDIA site.

    Brian,

Thank you for the response.  I always update my drivers from the NVIDIA website.  I am using the NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti card, and since I have posted this, there have been two updates to the driver, both of which have not rectified the issue.   I would never use a Windows update for my video drivers though...

Nicholas, if updating didn't fix the problem, then you should contact ON1 support about it. Include the info requested in this article with the trouble ticket.

There was a new studio.driver released on 23 January, if you haven't already go to the NVIDIA website and download the 528.24 version and do a clean install.

I have the same problem. How did you solved?

By installing the new NVIDIA drivers and the latest Photo RAW update released a couple of days ago.

I installed the latest drivers of NVIDIA and the problem persists

Did you install the latest Gaming driver, not the Studio driver?

The newest version of Photo Raw is supposed to fix false error for Vulcan. Have you updated yet?

I have installed Geforforce Game Ready Version: 536.23 with creation date of 06/14/2023, and latest versión of the ON1_Photoraw available for download.

I'm going to try uninstalling ON1 and reinstalling it, to see if that fixes the error.

Try removing those gaming drivers and replacing them with the studio drivers for your video card.

Install the latest version of ON1 and change my video card drivers to the NVIDIA Studio version 535.98 and the problem continues.

I don't know what else to do, I'm very frustrated, I need to use the program and I can't. I've been missing work for two days.

I will have to use another editing program.

Sergio, I don't see any mention of which GPU you have, nor do I see which version of Photo Raw you're running. A screenshot of the 'About' page would be nice.. It's difficult to make suggestions without some actual information.

The only thing I can suggest without more info is to report this to ON1 support, again if you already have, and see what they say. Today is Sunday, so you won't have a reply until tomorrow at the earliest.

My GPU is a NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1650 with NVIDIA Studio Drivers versión 535.98 and my version of ON1 is 2023.5 Current Version (17.5.0.13960) and my computer is a LENOVO Ideapad Gaming 3.

The screenshoot of the problem is:

I made the report to ON1 support and I am waiting for their response

Build 14051 is the later version. You need to download the latest installer.

Currently the Studio drivers are causing this problem up to v535.xx, after updating to the latest version of ON1 Photo RAW then install the Game Ready drive v536,23

ON1 recommends versions of the Studio driver v536.22 or later. Currently it isn't available so until then install the Game Ready driver ... the only difference is that Studio drivers are supposed to be more stable than Game Ready ... they have the same code.

Release notes can be found here: https://on1help.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/9475457412749-ON1-PHOTO-RAW-2023-5-Release-Notes-and-Download

Game ready drivers are tuned for higher frame rates over accuracy. That's what's important to gamers. Studio drivers are better tuned for graphics studio work. They are not exactly the same code. Same base code, yes. It's the tuned up part that makes the difference.

I installed Version 2023.5 (17.5.1.14051) — June, 15 2023 from ON1 and GEFORCE Game Ready driver version 536.23 for my video card and it didn't fix the problem.

I really don't understand the problem.

I hope to have a response from the support team tomorrow.

    Thanks for the contributions.

Did you try the recommended Studio drivers?

When did you install Version 2023.5 (17.5.1.14051)? If you did it just now, reboot your PC and check again.

I tried with both versions. The Studio and Game ready drivers.
And restart the computer every time I installed a new version.

Brian, the release notes state that you should install the Game Ready driver ...

"Be sure to use the GeForce Game Ready driver 536.23 or later."

Now I'm confused. Your last post said the opposite. "ON1 recommends versions of the Studio driver v536.22 or later." I've always read that the Studio version is more suited to our kind of work.

Brian, I stated "ON1 recommends versions of the Studio driver v536.22 or later. Currently it isn't available so until then install the Game Ready driver ...".

ON1 always recommends the Studio drivers because they are more stable but, in this case, I believe that because of issues they are recommending the Game Ready driver for those having Vulkan issues. In my case I see there are small glitches with the Game Ready driver but they don't affect the operation of Photo RAW as the previous Studio driver does with the Vulkan error and startup crashes.
