Camera data missing from Exif data in JPG image
Hi Guys
I've been trying to upload an image to a site, however it keeps getting rejected as it claims that the camera information is missing from the Exif.
I looked at the data in the JPG image and the lens data is contained in the Exif, but the camera data is contained in the TIFF info.
Im a newbie, so a bit confused if this is a problem at my end or theirs.
When exporting I've selected to export ALL metadata.

You should report this to tech support. It could be a bug in the program. Screen shots showing the error message for the upload attempt and what you are seeing when viewing the EXIF data will help them sort it out. You might also want to include the jpg and tif files.

Hi Brian
Was just about to submit a support ticket when I noticed that camera info is not included in the Exif info in old JPG pics from my iPhone either.
It is also included in the TIFF section of the info panel, same as with the JPG images created by ON1.
I'm now wondering if the issue is with the site I'm trying to upload my pics to.
I submitted at ticket to them too and will see what they come back with.

I've noticed the same thing with JPGs exported from On1 2023 uploaded to the Digital Photography Review forums - camera information is missing. See below for an example of the info displayed from one of my pics:

I'm having a similar EXIF missing on JPG's problem. My raw files have all the Exif data shown properly, but their corresponding generated jpg's are missing the Camera Make, Model, and Software fields (lens info and GPS are present).

OK, this is interesting. I exported a jpeg with the All Metadata option turned on. In Photo RAW I can see the Camera Make and Model. In Bridge I cannot. I dumped the EXIF data with exiftool and found that that information is stored in 2 locations with identical tags. In the 2nd location those data fields are blank. Photo RAW's Browser must be looking at the top location while Bridge is looking at the lower copy of it.
In Apple Photos I can see the camera info just fine.
All we can do is report it to support. I don't know why there would be two copies of those fields in there.

What's also interesting is I originally replied to this as a Windows thread, now it appears in the IOS/Mac side...Not sure what happened but I'm in Windows not Mac...

It doesn't matter. It is happening in both versions of the program. I filed a Support Request with a link to this thread and a sample jpeg with the exiftool data dump.

How do we check on the progress (if any) on a fix to this problem? Is there a Support Request number we can follow, or something similar?

No, unfortunately ON1 does not give us any way to track the progress of our bug reports. We can see the status of the report we submitted but it will be marked closed once support is finished with it regardless of whether or not it has been fixed.
Here is what support wrote to me in response to my report:
"I've to this to our dev team for review... i believe we have some open tickets with EXIF data for exported files that we are not showing due to different fields we read (don't read) in the app."
