Can I disable preview recreating?
Hello
Recently I am analyzing much of my photos using On1.
I like it's variable type of image can support. I can see even GoPro's RAW files and Mov.
However, Creating catalog with preview image time is very long. Almost of my files are Nikon RAW file which already includes low quality preview. On1 looks try recreate all these RAW file preview and this made CPU and HDD to overheat. sometimes On1 spins cursor forever and made me force quit application. and It looks all this issue because of make each photos preview file.
So, My question. Is there any way to not creating previews and only refer default preview? I tried to find every option but couldn't. If I missing some, please let me know. I am newbie of this application.
Thanks

No, there is no way to turn off the generation of the images previews. What is being generated are used when you view the images in Photo mode (full screen). The embedded previews are used the in the Thumbnail view mode (grid view).
The only controls we have for the previews is what size previews are created and you specified that when you told the program to make the Catalog.

Isn't the minimal option the same as not creating previews?

I guess it is time for me to RTFM again. I'd forgotten about that along with other features I don't use or see regularly. Thanks again Rick.

How many images are in your Catalog? Once the cataloging and preview building is done the CPU load will drop to normal levels.

There are some users with a lot more than that. I’ve got about half that amount on my system. Let it run over night and see how far it gets.
