The thing you should know is that I was addressing your developers in a short post scriptum (see above), so I don't know why you are upset. I should be upset in this situation as a customer for years, not you, Mr. Brian Lawson.

Now, the fact that your programs are virus free is not the reason why I posted this message, but to report a bug or a code in your programs that Bitdefender Total Security 26.0.32.123 blocks even if it's a false positive detection by this Antivirus, and to help the community to avoid this problem for the moment as you can read above, Mr. Brian Lawson. And it's a fact, not a complaint.

I hope your team will find a solution to solve this problem soon enough because I have had no problem with your previous programs.

Have a fantastic day, dear Mr. Brian Lawson.

The first thing you should know is that you are not talking to the company here. These forums are meant for user to user support and the only people here you can talk to are other users. If you want to talk to the company you have to use the Submit a request link at the top and bottom of these pages.

I can assure you that ON1's programs are virus free. You are seeing a false positive from Bitdefender.

Also, I highly recommend that you turn off its live scanning of the locations where your photos are stored. You don't want it grabbing hold of the disk drive and files the program is trying to use while they are in use. Photo RAW's performance will suffer otherwise.

They are not MY developers and they do not read these forums. I'm just another user like yourself. I do not work for the company. I'm not upset, I'm just trying to clarify what my position is and the limits of my authority and ability to do things.

This is not MY program. I appreciate that you want to report your findings. I'm sure others will find it useful. You just need to report them to the proper place and that is to tech support. They have contact with the engineers, I do not.

You have a nice day too.

They are false positives AND you missed an important part of Brian's reply. This is a USER forum you are not speaking to anyone here that is paid by On1.  If you feel there is an issue and you want to notify On1 you must submit a support ticket via the "Submit a request" link at the bottom of this page.

    Olivier,

Hopefully you have contacted Bitdefender and reported the bug in THEIR code which thinks that ON1 has an issue.  It is not ON1 that has an error - it is Bitdefender that is making a mistake.  And, as Marc mentions, above, apparently he is not getting the error on his system, so MAYBE the issue is in neither program but in your system setup or configurations.

Before you get all upset about something, you may want to be very sure your wrath is directed toward the correct target.

    Lou,

Yes, I contacted them, and they said that they would consult further about these issues with their development team to see if they may be able to resolve this issue with BitDefender.

Also, if you read carefully my comments, it's about all On1 2023 programs, not specificaly about On1 Photo Raw 2023, as Marc thought. I have been building my PCs since 1991 or 1992 and take care of my operating systems and hardware very carefully (Windows, Linux). Everything is just fine.

    Olivier

Maybe a clean reinstall of bitdefender?

    Hello Marc,

Thanks for your help and suggestion. I just did it, just in case, because we never know. Since yesterday, I am in contact with the On1 support. I am in good hands now. Consequently, I consider this problem solved now.

    — Thanks again, everybody —

I also have the same version of Bifdefender and the latest release from this week. I installed it with no problem and can see in the Bitdefender logs it was accepted as a legit app. Sounds like your system is corrupted. You should delete Bitdefender and re install.

This topic has been solved for two weeks already, as I mentioned above.
Can someone close this topic, please? Thank you!

There is no way to "close" these topics so no one can comment again. I've already marked it as "solved" and that's the limit of what I can do.
