Invisible Presets

I note these posts go back quite a few years but, fortunately, I did not have this problem in the good old days. However, now many of my preset collections are listed in the preset section, but they are not visible. Here's the weird part: although they are not visible, if I click on the box with the preset name, their effect does appear on the photo. I assume that this means they were correctly installed?

Do any of you photogs have an explanation for this? Is there a way to make the preset thumbnails visible?
