colors tone down in jpg
I get the image just the way I want it, but often when I export to jpg, colors are toned down, just less bright and crisp. Side by side in my monitor you can easily see the difference; my hard work is gone and then I need to fiddle in PS.
So why and what can I do?

The Exported photo is supposed to match the edits that you made. If it's not doing that, you should get some screenshots or examples of the problem and send them to ON1 tech support to look at.

You can expect a certain amount of color shift due to both the lossy format of jpegs and the change from the color space used for the 2 images. Most likely your jpegs are being saved in sRGB while what you see onscreen is in the much wider gamut ProPhoto colorspace. Those colors which are out of gamut in sRGB will be converted to colors which are in the sRGB gamut. That will cause a color shift.
