Sure, Suggestion: Report it to ON1 tech support and send examples of a working and non working set of files so that they can try it for themselves.

What happens if you stitch the RAW files together BEFORE you do any editing? When I do panos I rarely make any kind of editing changes before stitching. The only time I do that is when I forget to set my camera to full manual exposure so it changes across the frames. Then I will try to balance that only before stitching.

Brian, the same result....just tried it and only 2 of 9 of the RAWs were merged.....yet when I edited in ON1 and created TIFFs, they stitch fine in the ON1 pano tool.

Care to share your files for me to take a look at? You'll have to post them to some file sharing site like Dropbox or WeTransfer then post the download link here.

I don't use DropBox or WetRansfer....how about Google Drive? Your eMail address to use?

Google Drive will work. (Both DB & WT are free but you do have to set up an account.) I don't post my email address publicly. Just post the download link here and I'll let you know when I've got them so you can take them off Google Drive.

I can see why it is having problems stitching together your photos - not enough overlap. What I don't understand is why it works with the TIFFs and not the RAW files.

When I first tried stitching all 9 photos it took the first 3 from the left and rejected the rest. That field of corn is a tough one for it to match up. I got frames 3 & 4 and another pair, I don't remember which, to stitch but some of them it just wouldn't do. My thinking was you might be able to build it up in pieces rather than trying to get it all in one go.

I've marked up a couple of frames of the corn to show you what I would have used for landmarks for moving the camera and where I would have placed that object in the frame to get enough overlap for the program to work well. I try to get a prominent landmark of some type about ⅓ the way into the from each edge.

Brian, thank you very much for your time and patience. Typically I overlap my pano frames from 30-40%......your suggestion of looking for an object in adjoining frames during shooting to ensure a match during ON1's pano stitching is an excellent point.

The interesting thing is that PTGUI can handle these 9 CR3s without any intervention such as manually editing frame control points. Perhaps ON1's M&A team should look at incorporating PTGUI's capability into ON1 RAW. While I recognize PTGUI's forte is to handle panoramas extremely well, it would make for a quicker and smoother workflow for pano editors to not jump in and out of programs for their desired end result.

Brian, once again, thank you for your generous assistance and diligent efforts. You and the ON1 team are what makes me a long term ON1 Plus member.

Brian, one final question if you are still following my thread.....why when I am successful in stitching a number of the CR3s together in ON1 and then going into the develop module, the ability to adjust white balance in Kelvin, and  the Camera Profile is not available?

If I load only one of the CR3s, I can adjust the WB and the Camera Profile in the develop module which allows me a tremendous amount of editing latitude. TIA.

Yes, I am still here. I know what you mean about not wanting to use more than one program. When I have problems with PR’s stitching I use, the now discontinued AutoPano Pro. I prefer to stay in PR as long as possible.

The white balance and camera profile are two of the things I will adjust before switching to panorama.

PR? Based on our conversation, I guess my workflow should be in ON1 develop CR3s including WB and camera profile, and then stitch with ON1's pano tool.....and if that fails, export TIFFs and use PTGUI to stitch as I own the license......export a TIFF from PTGUI and crop in ON1 and save in JPEG format in 7680x2160 for my dual 4K monitor wallpaper setup.

    Thanks for your assistance Brian.

PR = Photo RAW. That is the name of the program. ON1 is the name of the company. They make several programs so I like to make sure it is clear which one I'm referring to.
