film strip builder
Is it possible to make a landscape photo, by making a strip out of 3 portrait photos, like it is possible in Faststone ?

I don't know what faststone does. In Photo Raw you load each photo on it's own layer and then adjust them side by side. You'll need to increase the canvas size by 3 in order for them to fit.
Here is a quick example using 3 bird pix. This took only 2 or 3 minutes to do.

Is there any tutorial that shows the process, step by step?

Not specifically for that but it isn't that hard.
- Select all the images you want to use in the Browser then click the Layers button. The photos will all be stacked one on top of the other.
- Figure out how wide the Canvas will need to be. Take the number of images used and multiply by their pixel width.
- Use the File > Canvas Size… command.
- In the Canvas Size dialog turn off Lock Proportions, we only want to change the width. Set the new Width field making sure it is set to pixels.
- One by one select each Layer and use the Transform tool to move it into is proper position.
That's it.

Find your photos in Browse. Highlight all 3 and select LAYERS
Initially in EDIT, you'll see your photos each on it's own layer
You need room on the canvas to put the images side by side, so select Canvas Size from the menu.
On opening Canvas size, disable LOCK PROPORTIONS and note the Width.
Multiply the Width by 3 and select APPLY
Now you have a canvas wide enough for the 3 images
You can move any of the images. For this example, I'm moving the top layer to the left and the bottom one to the right. Make sure the top layer is selected and click Transform.
Drag the image to the left and align it.
Now select the lower image and use transform to move it to the right.
Note: The lower image is BEHIND the middle one so you won't be able to see it, but because that layer is selected, it's the only one that will drag when you click in the middle.
At this point you can continue working on the layers individually, you can create a new stamped layer to combine them,
or you can just Export as it is.
