Adjust First. Midtones or Shadows?

Hi, do a lot of bird photography so anyone else who does so can maybe advise here.

Do you adjust the Midtones or Shadows first on a bird once ready to edit an image?

  I typically do shadows first, but all 3 of those adjustments affect each other, so you'll likely be going back and forth between them anyway.

  It doesn't matter: as Rick says, they interact, so you'll be bouncing between them anyway.

  The end result is what matters, not the order in which you get there.

  Personally I find that what I start with depends on the image.
