The first thing to try is the Delete Settings File function.

What exactly are you clicking when you say "previous"? Do you mean Paste Settings from Previous Edit? I would expect that would solve the problem but it should be happening in the first place.

On the bottom right of the edit module, there is a "previous" button...if I click on that, a window pops up that says "preparing mask" and "rendering" about 8 times and then the edited photo shows properly

ok, tried the delete settings function and rebooted, same issue..

This shows the edits before going back to the browse module

After clicking done which brings me back to the browse module, it appears as unedited...

If I then go back to the edit module, the picture still shows as unedited....UNTIL, I click on the previous button in the edit module....but when I click done again, the browse module continues to show the unedited version.

I have the same problem with 2023 and 2023.1.  I was hoping the version would be better but is got worse.  The menu items over lap and masking/layers don't work properly.  I have tried everything but nothing works.  The new version shouldn't be installed until the problems are fixed.

The Previous button is the same thing as the Paste Settings from Previous Edit. That does not explain why they are not being applied in the first place though.

"[A] window pops up that says 'preparing mask' and 'rendering' about 8 times…" Does this match the number of masked edits you made?

When you look at the Properties for the .on1 sidecar file for that image what is its modified date? It should match the time you returned to the Browser when the edits are supposed to be written to the sidecar.

Try this. Open an unedited photo and do some editing. It doesn't have to be extensive, we just want to get some editing data into the sidecar file. Return to the Browser then open the on1. sidecar for that image in a text editor. If the edits are in the sidecar file you will see a bunch of random gibberish below the ASCII text metadata fields at the top of the file.

Whatever you find you should report it to tech support. Include the image file and its sidecar in your report. There are 2 possibilities I can think of — the edit data never got written to the sidecar, or, it is there but the program is ignoring it for some reason. I had some problems during testing with edits not showing up even though the data was in the sidecars. It was supposed to have been fixed but maybe not?

Thanks, will do. I've opened a ticket with tech support. It seemed to me that the edits weren't being written to the sidecar for some reason, so I checked the sidecar modified date after editing a file and the date was when the file first was downloaded from the camera, not the edited date. I'll check what you said and send the info to tach support. Thanks for the assist, greatly appreciate your time.

    Cheers
