on12023.5 Extremely Buggy
I just installed the new upgrade and when I tried to use either the masking or layers my computer froze. The menus over lapped and I was no longer able to make selections. I deleted the settings file with no help.
My suggestion is not to install the 2023.5 update now.

Whatever is going on is unique to your system. I have been running the program for over two weeks now and haven’t experienced anything like what you have described. I don’t have time to get into it right now when I return home this evening I’ll try and help you out.

Hi Aaron,
I've got time now to work on this. The first thing I need to know is which Mac model you are running, its specs, and which OS version.
I'd also like more specific detail on what you are doing that is causing the freeze. If this is repeatable please give me a step by step procedure for duplicating it.

Thanks for helping me find out what's going. Here is my system"
MacBook Pro 16inch-Apple M1 Max Chip-64GB Memory-4TB Storage only .5TB used-OS Ventura 13.4-1TB G Drive SSD for Scratch Drive and On1 files-16 TB off computer file storage-19inch HP W1907 1440x 900 Display for processing pictures on the road.
The main problem is the over lapping menu items. The Items are buried in the next menu line and you can't make any choices. The masking and layers get tangled and the computer freezes. I can send screen grabs of the menus. I wonder if the problems can be caused by the small monitor??
I will send the screen grabs through the email you sent.
Thanks again for the help Aaron

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I fell asleep pretty early last night, before I saw your reply.
The menus issue is most likely due to your monitor resolution settings. Have you changed them from its default setting? Photo RAW isn't very tolerant of non-default screen resolutions. It can cause exactly what you are seeing.
What happens if you use just the laptop display?
