ON1 quit unexpectedly

And what happens after you click one of those two buttons? I'm betting the program crashes again.

This dialog is displayed whenever the program crashes and is launched again. We are going to need more information about when, where, and why the program is crashing and your system specs before we can try to figure out what is going on.

    Thanks for replying so soon.

It happens every time I try launching the program. Can't remember when it started however. I was hoping the latest update would solve the problem.

The program proceeds to load normally whichever button I click.

I'll be glad to supply system specs if you refresh my memory how to do that.

You did not tell me what happens after clicking one of the buttons. I completely understand what this window is all about and why is shows up when it does. What I need to know is what is causing your program to crash.

    Try this.

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Launch Photo RAW
    3. Click the Cancel button
    4. QUIT THE PROGRAM IMMEDIATELY. Do not try to do anything with it. Once it has exited normally, that dialog will stop showing up until the next crash.

Followed the instructions, but unfortunately the crash notice showed up again.

Did the program crash again or were you able to quit it normally? If it did not crash, you'll have to talk to support. Until that dialog stops being displayed, we cannot proceed to the next step.

    The program has never crashed.

In any case, I'll submit a support ticket. Thanks.

The fact that it is asking you to send a crash log says otherwise.

Yes. I think you may be right.

I vaguely recall some sort of crash. I don't recall what happened. It might have had something to do with panning, but I'm not sure.

Is it possible to clear any crash files?

It isn't just the crash file. There is a flag set in the program's internal settings somewhere that tells it about the crash. That is how it knows to display the dialog to send the crash log. Once that dialog has been cleared by clicking either of those 2 buttons that flag gets reset so it doesn't get displayed for the next launch of the program.

Are you ever seeing the Browser window? Can you select an image just to view it there? I'm wondering if the program is crashing silently which would reset that flag again.

After that, I really don't know. You could try uninstalling the program then reinstalling.

Yes, I can browse files and edit them too.

I think I'll uninstall then reinstall.

That is definitely a new one on me. Very weird. I'd like to know what support has to say if you wind up contacting them.

That dialogue was an annoyance (and still is). I was always able to carry on using the program, although I kept thinking it could be a potential problem.

On second thought, I'll submit a support ticket rather than reinstalling to see if they can get to the bottom of the issue.

This happened to me yesterday as well. I had just installed PR 2023.5 (the latest release) on a brand new laptop. I got the same "report a problem" window. Hitting cancel or submit did not matter...once that window is closed the program launches as normal.

I was able to contact On1 support and they said that this was a "glitch" with the new release. I was told this would be resolved with another update or patch.

Updating to the latest Nvidia driver did not fix the issue.

The program remains useable once you get rid of that "report a problem" window.

    Good to know. Thanks.

I wonder about it being a glitch with the new release as I've had this issue with the previous release and was hoping the new release would solve it.
