Print to specific size on larger paper
I need to send off an image for printing, and have the final image come out (roughly) to specific dimensions, which are smaller than the paper dimensions. I'm using On1 2023.5 (latest) & printing at Mpix. I need the final image to be 9x17 inches, and Mpix has a 10x20 inch paper option
So, I think what I need to do is place a 9:17 ratio cropped image on a 10x20 inch canvas so when exported and sent off to Mpix and printed on 10x20 inch paper, the final image comes out to approximately 9x17 (I've padded so +/- 1/4" is OK). Seems simple, but I'm going in circles.
Suggestions?
I don't have a printer any more or I could do some trial-and-error (we live on the road in an RV), and my print-foo skills are 3+ years old and lightroom. I've been going around on how to do this and can't seem to figure it out. Can't find a post which hits it either. Thanks!

The printer (person) should be able to take care of printing the image in the center of whatever size paper you specify. You shouldn't have to mess with all of that. I would contact their support dept and ask how they handle that situation before going to all that effort.

@brian - I have sent is a similar question to their support folks. Thanks.

So at least mpix says to place the 9x17 image on a 10x20 canvas to print to size on 10x20 paper. I'll check to see if other printers can print to size for me, but they are saying to do what I described above. I know this should not be hard. Argh.

Get your image all set up and cropped to 9x17 proportions. Go to File > Canvas Size… and set it to 10x20. Add a new Color Fill Layer and make it white then drag it below the image Layer. That should do it.
This isn't exactly your proportions but it shows the results.
