Just move each window to the monitor you want it on.

Brian, your post is hidden again for some reason.

I dont want to just switch the monitors.  I want to just move large selected picture to the main screen and move the picture grid only to screen 2. I am just checking if there is a method I missed, I didnt see the option in the preferences or menus

All of the options are shown in the user guide. It's a very simple implementation, no hidden features.

from page 64, this is all of it.

    Great answers

If you enable dual screen mode then at the bottom of each screen you should find view mode icons. If you click the full screen view (large rectangular icon) on main screen then that will show big image on that screen and grid on second screen. Click grid icon on main screen and they switch around.

This is what is being described in last paragraph in Rick's entry.

Works as adverised. I often tell people to RTFM. Perhaps I should take my own advice.

    Thanks all

In Edit mode (keyboard shortcut D) when you click on a photo on the secondary screen and press C, you'll get a compare view (only a single photo is displayed on each screen). If the primary screen is focused you'll get into a crop mode. It ain't very intuitive, but it works. Then press G (when secondary screen is focused) to get back to grid view.

For my purposes, I'd rather see an enlarged image that I'm working on in my secondary monitor, which is color calibrated for printing. Since that monitor tends to be darker than my regular monitor, having the edit tools and main interface on that monitor is ideal.

It seems the dual mode is generally set up for presenting images rather than using them for effective editing.

Swap the windows between the two monitors.

Sure. But that would also result in the main ui, editing controls, etc being on the color calibrated, e.g. darker, monitor, would it not?

Rearrange your setup so the calibrated monitor is in front of your eyes? I seriously doubt the company will consider another change to the UI after the MAJOR overhaul coming in 2024. You can always make the suggestion though.
