Manual Lens Profile Selection
AnsweredI read all the posts and workarounds on this topic, but since most of them are several years old, I thought I'll give it a try too.
I'm using a Fuji X-T30II with a manual Pentax Super-Takumar 55mm lens. When I load the RAW files into On1, under Lens Profile, the "Make" is identified as "Fujifilm" but it is greyed out and I cannot change it. The lens is not a Fujifilm lens. Under "Lens" I get "no match", but I can choose from the dropdown menu all the different Fuji lenses. But again, the lens is not a Fuji lens.
I read the workarounds and suggestions, but this cannot be seriously the way the developers want this to work! If a lens is correctly identified, you can change Make and Lens to whatever you like (but why would you?), but if the lens cannot be identified and needs manual identification (isn't that the point of this feature?), On1 doesn't let you do this?
And yes, both the camera and the lens are in the database, this is not the issue.

Hi Mischa, would you care to share one of the photos taken with that lens/camera combination for me to take a look at please? You'll have to post it to a file sharing service like Dropbox or WeTransfer then post the download link here.

Hi Brian,
Thank you for replying. Of course, please see below link:
But I don't think there is anything wrong with the file nor is there a bug in On1. It is just that very strange decision to lock manual lens assignment when it is actually needed, meaning when there is no EXIF information about the lens used.

Yes, the EXIF metadata Lens Make field is empty so the program isn't allowing us to modify the Make field.
I agree, it should allow us to modify that when the info is not present. You should report this to support.

In the mean time you can download and install the open source ExifTool program which will allow you to modify the exif data and add that Lens Make info. It is a command line tool that requires your system to have Pearl installed. https://exiftool.org/

Thank you Brian. It's just a crazy weird decision.
It's like advertising photo editing tools, but have them disabled for RAW files (where they are most useful and needed) and only allow them to be used for jpgs....
