Resize AI blows up system data
Macbook Pro M1 Pro/16GB/512GB
I used the trial of Resize AI to resize a larger number of pictures. Before I used the app almost 50% of my disk space were available. Suddenly, while batch resize is running (no other app open), the system data explodes from one second to the next, takes up the entire remaing free space, and freezes the app. I tried to change the preferences of the app, reset the app, and finally uninstalled the app. Nothing helped. Also turned my Macbook off and on several times, which worked the first time I experienced this behaviour, but not now. I also checked the library, which is just 25GB.
Any idea how what to do?

How much free space is left on your boot drive? Most likely Resize is making use of the Scratch space and that fills the drive until the system freezes or the app crashes. You can move the Scratch space to a different location by going to Preferences > System > Scratch Folder Location. I have an external SSD that is dedicated to the program's Scratch space and the PerfectBrowseCache so I don't have to worry about either of them taking too much space needed elsewhere.

Yes, that's the answer! Thanks a lot!
It took a few hours until system data was set back to normal levels, but now everything works as expected again. Great!0
