I's not just about having an SSD, but also about how you use it. There are plenty of threads in the forum that explain it over and over again. This is one of them, you can find many more if you look.

Hi, thankyou for the reply but I'm not really asking about your run of the mill SSDs.

To me anyway this M2 SSD is completely a new era.

I do no how the older type SSD's work just wanted to no if this new technology would run ON1 faster.

    Thankyou.

Russell, the only place the speed of the drive matters is when reading from or writing to that drive. Having a faster drive will not affect the program 's performance while editing and it will have a minimal affect on load times for the photos as most of the delay we see there is from the various AI's doing their thing before we can see the image.

Another factor is how is that drive going to be connected to your system. If it is not connected to a high-performance bus such as a Thunderbolt-3 connection if it's external, the throughput will be throttled back to whatever the bus can handle and you may not see the full performance the drive's potential promises.

It doesn't matter. If everything is on that SSD and it's all being accessed on the same bus, that's a bottleneck.
