Weird white balance behavior involving DNG files.
AnsweredI generate DNG files from DXO Deep Prime via Photolab6. On1 reads them fine. I edit one and copy the settings to other similar photos. Now the DNG files turn green in the browse section. I can remedy this by:
1. Not copying the white balance
2. Using the local white balance selection.
3. Copying everything and then manually changing the white balance settings a point or two.
Anyone else experience this? It's as if On1 gets caught up in a conversion argument, gets confused and says "Nah, I don't think so."

I've seen that happen on older DNG files I've already processed. For some reason the previews turn green. Refreshing the preview usually solves it for me.
This sounds somewhat different although it seems to be related. I don't usually Copy/Paste settings so that isn't the cause of what I'm seeing.
You should report it to tech support.

Hi Brian, again, thanks for the response. I did submit a ticket. The 24 hour period has passed. Let's go for 48!
The green behavior happens when copying and pasting (or syncing) to a single image as well. I don't think it is DXO specific, as I've seen it happen with Adobe generated files as well.
It is Browse specific; the green disappears in the develop mode, but does not retain the White Balance setting upon re-entry to Browse unless I jiggle the WB while in Develop.
Thanks.

All my DNGs came from Adobe DNG Converter.
There's definitely something odd going on with the Color & Temp sliders in the Develop panel. Undo/Redo will not restore them properly. There is another discussion here about copy/paste not working for them on RAW files as well.

Against my better judgement, I've been delving into this issue. Apparently On1 is not "remembering" whether a DNG has the "K" control on or off. Recorded a preset with "K" off and one with "K" on thinking I could toggle the setting with a group of files. That was a no go. The On1 preset with K enabled acted as if it was off.
If I manually toggle the K switch in the edit panel, all is good-except for the time wasted loading hundreds of images and manually adjusting/saving them all.
If I sync a "corrected K" version with another DNG file, the K setting does not transfer in the browse mode. So far, the only joy comes from the manual toggle of the K in the Develop panel.

Send another message to support with your new findings. Update your original request. If you can give them a step-by-step procedure that will reliably reproduce the problem you'll help them out.

More information.
This problem is occurring with the RAW files as well when syncing settings. There is definitely something funky going on with white balance copy and/paste/apply/render.I thought I would catalogue this particular folder with 700 or so images; perhaps building the previews would correct the issue. Nope. Now thumbnails will not render completely until the white balance is “jiggled”. Images are blurred and green, both RAW and DNG.. On some of the images, a white border exist on the bottom horizontal and right vertical edges. If I click on a thumbnail, it will render in the preview window; the thumbnail will update, and then revert back to green upon selection of the next thumbnail.0 -
Response from On1Hello,
Yes, sorry... we have bugs affecting certain DNGs... and ALSO with copy/paste/sync settings with white balance and thumbnails not updating correctly.
These are known issues, currently being worked on.
Sorry for the troubles.
We'll keep you posted with any updates as they become available.0
