Using Adobe Bridge to cull images
I would like the option to use Bridge to cull images. I would rate the images with stars in Bridge and then I would like to pass the rating to On1 browse. Is that possible? If so, how? Thank you in advance for your help.

You do it exactly as you've described. Bridge will save the star ratings in an .xmp sidecar file with Photo RAW will read.

I thought so, but for some reason Photo Raw is not reading it. Not sure why.

I had to play around with this to figure it out. Apparently Bridge is storing metadata changes in an internal database somewhere. Kind of like how Photo RAW does it. It is NOT automatically storing that data in an .xmp file; you have to tell it to Apply the changes to the image. I tested on a jpeg and it still did not create an .xmp but it did embed the ratings inside the jpeg file so it showed up in Photo RAW right away.
At the bottom right corner of the Metadata panel in Bridge there are a couple of buttons—X to cancel, and a check mark to Apply the changes. Clicking the checkmark allowed Photo RAW to see the edits on a jpeg but it did not work on a .dng file so I don't know what is going on.
You might want to search the Adobe forums for help with their program. It isn't saving the metadata in an .xmp file so there isn't any way for Photo RAW to see it unless it can be applied to a pixel image format like JPEG, TIFF, etc.

I appreciate your help! Thank you!
I need it to work on raw files so I will search Adobe help.

Why can't you do your culling in Photo RAW? It does everything you described above and has all the tools you need for it. Hudson Henry has some good videos on how to do culling efficiently in PR.

I'm sure it my computer, it is 5 years old now. I have always used photo raw to cull, but now it is much, much slower than Bridge. I would prefer to continue to use PR but it takes 15-20 seconds to load the next image when I hit the arrow keys. Bridge is almost instant.

What is your Preview Quality set to? There are 2 settings—Fast and Accurate. Accurate requires rendering the image before it is displayed. Fast uses the save preview in the PerfectBrowseCache if you're working in a Cataloged folder. Otherwise, it will have to be rendered the 1st time to get its preview in the other cache but from then on it will pull it from there instead. View > Preview Quality.

I will check that. Thank you.
