Which camera do you have? I don’t use burst mode but I have an R5 and I have no problem with my CR3 files.

R7. My standard raw and Craw files work fine with ON1. My only problem is with CR3 files extracted from burst mode.

Could you make an extracted CR3 available, David?

We'll know soon enough if this is an ON1 problem if other people can test an example on their machines.

I doubt that Photo RAW supports these files yet. I'd be glad to give one a try on my machine to verify that if you'll make one available for us to download David.

I'm not sure if my earlier response came through.  I'll be glad to share some extracted files, but the ON1 Community won't let me upload them due to size and format.  Is there a portal I can use, otherwise I can make one available through my Dropbox account.

No, you cannot post them here as you've found and there is no portal. Post to your Dropbox the post the download link here please.

My guess too - which is why I'm interested in getting my hands on one.

Here's a link to an extracted burst file:

    https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/8y0n7ixhww5ld5p60q82q/619A5537_05_26_07.CR3?rlkey=inu7glv78qes9byj7opp3g2ux&dl=0

It was taken from a Canon R7 and then extracted via Canon's DPP software.  As I mentioned earlier, I have several other raw editors that can successfully open the file, but for some reason ON1 freezes with them.

Let me know if you have any problems accessing the file.

    Thanks!

What I see when I try to open it:

The "Info" panel sees the file, but the lack of a preview image says "Not supported" to me.

(And yes, an actual message to that effect would be an obvious improvement...)

I'm seeing the same thing. The program will open it but not display its contents for editing but the program is not crashing on my Mac M1 mini.

No crashing or freezing here, just a file I can't do anything useful with - Windows 10 machine.

Thanks for confirming the issue.  I just sent a ticket request to ON1.  I'll follow up when I get more information.

ON1 support confirmed that PhotoRaw doesn't support these files.  I submitted a feature request recommending that they add support.  It may take a day or two before for the moderators to publish the request on the site.  If you agree, then voting in favor might help the cause.  Thanks!

"It may take a day or two before for the moderators to publish the request on the site."

    Which site?

    This site...

    https://www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/ideas/

... and it will be more than a few days. ON1 only checks the ideas a couple of times a year.

    Thanks Rick.

It's always sensible to link to a site you want people to add their support to.
