how often does ON1 new cameras raw formats get updated

  With each and every new Ugrade and update release we get support for new cameras.

  so I have to hope 2023.5 gets updated before 2024 comes out or I have to pay for 2024 to get the update for my camera ? I bought 2023.5 outright that is what I am wondering ..

  I doubt if anyone in this forum can answer that question as we are users like you and do not know if there will be another update to PR 2023 (PR 2022 had its final update in June 2022). Nor do we know when or what cameras will be added to future updates or upgrades. You might be best to submit a request to customer service using the Submit a Request link at the bottom of this page. If you recently bought PR 2023 by mistake, not knowing your camera was not supported, they might be able to help (there is a 30 day refund policy).

  Did not buy by mistake bought when it first came out just figured like all my other raw software programs that when a group of new cameras hit the market about 2-3 weeks later they will update already have updates on all my other programs so I know where this is going just checking thank you

  I use, or have used, pretty much every RAW converter out there - I'm familiar with all of the Big Names, and many niche products - and none of them routinely provide an update when "a group of new cameras" comes out.

  Partly because - like ON1 - they have an update cycle which is planned, fixed and not reactive ; and partly because cameras do not come out in "groups".

  And how does anybody buy software "by mistake"? 

  Do you mean "without doing your homework first"?

  Just like every other converter ever, that's not on a subscription licence - there's nothing uniquely "ON1" about finding yourself in this situation.
