Sort by Date Captured isn't with mixed Nikon .NEF and iPhone .jpeg files.
AnsweredSeeing an odd issue that I can't quite figure out. I've just imported a bunch of vacation photos; some of which were taken on a Nikon D750, some of which were taken on an iPhone. On import, the photos were sorted into folders by (year/month/) day. Within each day, though I have On1 set to Thumbnail view and sorted by Date Captured, the iPhone shots are consistently getting displayed four hours later than they should, even though their EXIF data is showing the correct capture time.
An example: I took shots of a landmark with my Nikon, then took a selfie at the same landmark with my iPhone. The EXIF data for the Nikon .NEF file and the iPhone .jpeg file both show a capture time of 10:59 a.m.; however, the iPhone photo is being shown between Nikon photos from four hours later (at 2:59 p.m.) instead of next to the Nikon photo taken at about the same time.
The end result is that, even though all the EXIF data looks correct, all iPhone shots are sorted four hours later than they should be, which makes organizing all of the trip photos much more challenging than it should be.
Any ideas as to what might be going on or suggestions on how to fix or work around this?
Thanks!

No work around that I know of.
You should report it to ON support...

This is a known problem with Photo RAW's date handling. It should still be reported so they get a feel for how many users are having that problem.

Thanks! At least it's not just me. I'll submit a formal request.

I have the same problem but this worked fine for me in RAW files

That doesn't seem to address the issue I'm seeing. The metadata for both .nef and iPhone .jpegs is correct, but the .jpegs are getting sorted into the wrong spot.

Agreed. Sorting by Date Captured is not working for me. The metadata from iPhone .HEIC and from Canon .jpg are correct but sorting is incorrect.

I've also been struggling with this issue and have opened a case with ON1. They initially said it should be fixed with the 2024 version, but it wasn't.
The really strange thing is that if you choose Photo > Edit Capture Date... you'll see that the "Original" date shown there is different from the one shown in the metadata panel on the right. And the date shown in Edit Capture Date is the one that apparently being used for sorting by Capture Date. I really hope they get this fixed soon--it's extremely annoying.

You can restore the correct data with the Read Metadata from File command.

Brian Lawson, Thanks for the suggestion, but I've tried that and it doesn't fix the issue for me.

Yes, I already have a case open. Your suggestion is the first thing they told me to try, so I've already told them it doesn't work. I've also sent many screenshots and files to show them the issues.
