I am starting a new thread because it's been five days, and this has not been resolved. Maybe someone else has had this nightmare.
1. I upgraded to On1 2024 five days ago and it would not launch. It comes up with the splash screen and may be open for ten seconds and then crashes.
2. I tried a clean install, shift-reset and got some stability, but it would crash after maybe 30 seconds. I believe the catalog folders are corrupt.
3. Bryan Lawson the moderator said it had to do with keywording, but the keywording status never started for the last four days. The app doesn't stay open long enough.
Here is the reply I got from Tech Support:
Looking at the crash data, this appears to be an issue we are currently tracking to address. Unfortunately I do not have an ETA as to when a potential fix becomes available nor a good workaround that doesn't involve the deleting of data that you probably want to keep, like cataloged folders and other data that is stored within the ON1 Photo Raw database. We do have steps on how to remove that information, but that's kind of something of a last resort since it typically puts your system in a state of acting like it's never had Photo Raw installed and that can be too disruptive of an action to take. We can proceed only if you would be ok with deleting all of that data. Brent | Sr. Engineer
Got this missive this morning and have not heard their response to clarify the cost of this fix.
In order to get up and running, what exactly will I lose? Will this clear all my layers, masks, and color? Will my star ratings survive? What does this mean? I have not gotten a response from engineering; perhaps someone here will understand.
How do I get On1 Raw 2023 to work now? It has the wrong catalog folder and won't be reset.
