Just had another guy on Facebook say he's missing styles in the glow filter. he tried Delete settings and it didn't help, so you can try a reset which will kill your catalogs, albums and extras, or you can open a ticket with tech support.

I don't know if reset will fix it, your choice weather to try it or not.

    Rick,

I appreciate your suggestion.  I did try to reset the program prior to uninstalling and removing all directories to see if that would resolve the issue.  I still have a ticket open with tech support but have not heard back after letting them know that uninstalling and removing the directories before reinstalling did not work.  In addition, I checked with another On1 2024 subscriber, and they too are experiencing the same issue.

You'll have to wait for tech support then.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue.

But I've also found that using the "Filters" tab over near the top of the left bumper will open all the missing styles.

Additionally, Clicking on the small and tiny icon to open the examples window will also cause all styles to be displayed.

This is a work-around and extremely inconvenient for some I would imagine. And it is not the way that I am accustomed to have this program work. But at least it's a way to use the program until the engineers can get this fixed.

I am not sure yet whether ALL styles will be displayed until I check All filters this way but at least on the "Glow" filter I know that this method works.

I've been really excited for many weeks about 2024 being released. And even though my experience in using the program since 2018 has been expectant of the bugs that inevitably and always come along with the new releases from ON1,  this release (in my experience) has been by far, the worst ever.

I am NOT a Computer Software Engineer. I am just a photographer that wants to develop my individual and creative post production skills with good software. I am sick of fooling with a program that doesn't work as it should and feel that trying to download and use this release is draining all of my creative joy. And that is the worst thing that can come out of this entire debacle.

    Steven,

Thank you for the tip, your suggestion looks to work on all the styles within each effect.

I would agree that this is the most frustrating release I have dealt with.  2023 at the end was very solid for what I did, my only improvement would have been speed loading the images.  With the issues I have run into within 2024 I am staying with 2023 for my main processing and using 2024 to see if the images are processed any differently.

Tech support got back to me, and the method mentioned in this reply resolved the issue for me.  After confirming the styles were working, I deleted the folder on the desktop and relaunched the program and the styles work.  It looks like a new NSservice folder was created in the original directory.

    Cheers

What we should do is first check the main preference for Photo Raw 2024.

If you launch the application, then go to the Edit menu and then select Preferences, our main preferences dialog will come up.  Click on the tab that is labeled Files.  Make sure the option to save on1 side car files is enabled.  This makes sure that the edits you have done are saved in a side car file.  If that's the case, quit Photo Raw 2024.

    Go to:  C:\Users\<Your Username>\AppData\Roaming\ON1\ON1 Photo RAW 2024.

Please note, App Data is a Hidden Folder on Windows. Please make sure you enable hidden files and folders on your machine so you are able to open this folder:

There will be a folder in here called NDService.  Move this folder to the Desktop.  Do not delete this folder.  Once moved to the Desktop, launch Photo Raw 2024 and then see if the styles load up from a filter in the Effects module.

Cool, I tried it and it works.

There are others with this problem too. I'll point them at this solution.

    To Greg, Rick and Brian,

That definitely worked on my machine. Thank you so much.

Wow. I really don't know what On1 (or me either) would do without you guys.

So far, to solve two issues, I've deleted one file in the program and moved another. I would have never figured this out without y'all.

    Thanks again!

    S'n

Does this apply to Mac OS as well?

Also, at some point can one delete the folder or should it stay on the desktop?

I asked the same question to tech support and the response was if the issue is resolved the file on the desktop can be deleted.

I have not tried the process on a Mac as I don't own one, but as long as you can save the original folder then I don't see why you should not give it a try.  If it does not work move the original folder back.
