    I'm on a similar situation. My iMac does not open newest 2018.5.2, it seems like your same error. I've sent a request at the help desk and I'm waiting for their answer. I'm just not installing on my MacBook by now...

    I'm having the same problem too, on my MacBook Pro mid-2010, upgraded to 8Gb RAM and a 500 Gb SSD and with literally nothing else on it except photo related stuff. It doesn't load the latest version past the loading image, just freezes or drops out. I junked it, reinstalled the previous version (12.5.1), which works OK except that it now freezes when I try to open a jpeg in Develop mode. The little orange progress bar at the bottom right just stays empty as if it's preparing to load the image, but it never happens. RAW files open up fine. Anyone else having this problem? Are we just not supposed to process jpeg files at all? 

    Frustrating as I really thought On1 Photo Raw was the answer to my needs, more fun and zippier than Lightroom. But after these updates, really having seconds thoughts at the moment...

    Well hold the front page, I just checked my email and the On1 Support team just sent me a link to an even newer update. Downloaded and installed, and the application now opens up without freezing. But the jpeg freezing issue in Develop mode is still there. I have let them know and sent them latest log file. 

    Gotta say this for On1 - they certainly seem very active in trying to fix bugs and respond quickly to feedback.

    I received the same email with the new update & after installing everything seems to be ok now.

    Ok also for me, after updating tonight's version, it is working fine. Not tried to edit JPGs yet, I don't usually edit such format
