Rotate Photo does not reset with "Reset All Settings"
This has been a gripe of mine since way back and I have posted in the Plus forums about it back when you could post issues there. I never got a peep out of anyone.
Why does Rotate seem to be in a class by itself? I am talking about the Photo menu rotate. It is NOT reset when you Reset All Settings. It sort of seems like it was added as an after thought to me.
The only way to unrotate or clear a rotation (90, 180, 270) is to rotate again and again back to where you started.
I would like to hear if anyone has ever posted a bug about that? Or perhaps there is something I am missing (a hidden command)?

The way it works makes sense to me. I don't rotate to edit my photos like I do in Effects, I rotate to correct some technology that didn't rotate them the way it was supposed to. Once you get your photo the right way around it's finally the way it's supposed to be and still un-edited.
Another way to look at it is if it did reset then you'd have to keep fixing it instead of having the photo staying the way it's supposed to be.

I agree that just about any normal subject matter photo will be obvious to spot if it is rotated. And that probably falls into the way your comment (Rick) is written. And if I want a portrait vs landscape I will rotate the camera, which removed the requirement to rotate 90 degrees. Leveling is done during resizing, and that is covered by resetting.
But there is one case where this fails me and that is on water reflections. I do a lot of IR photography and IR reflects off of water to where it is almost impossible to tell which is the reflection and which is not, if the water is smooth. And I often invert the image (rotate 180). The results are sometimes near impossible for even me to determine if I have actually inverted or not. There is nothing I can look at as far as information or data on the metadata that says it was rotated and nothing I can do as far as resetting to put the image rotated back the way it came out of the camera.
I suspect that I am in the very, very small minority with this particular issue.
But I still think that there should be a way to reset the rotation from the photo menu. If it can be rotated 3 times to get to 270, it should have a reset menu option.

Maybe what you need to do is find the proper workflow for these images. If they aren't already grouped together, put them all in an Album so you can work on them all at the same time. If you rotated a group 180, put them in an Album sub folder. You could also add a keyword to mark all of the rotated ones. I'm sure you can find a way to make it work.
