new editing idea
Did anyone see the editing function in the new iphone 10sMax where you can change the depth control after you take the picture?
Does ON1 support this?
thanks

Hey David,
Yes, you will be able to add a lens blur filter to your image to create a shallow depth of field in ON1 Photo Raw 2018. I recommend watching this training video: https://www.on1.com/blog/using-lens-blur-to-create-depth-of-field/

Yes it does. From what I've read, Quoted from this site...
https://iphonephotographyschool.com/iphone-xs-camera/
"On the iPhone XS and XS Max, the wide angle and telephoto lenses work together to create a depth effect. The camera uses software to analyze the image and create a shallow depth of field. The result is a picture with a sharp subject against a beautiful blurred background."
The camera has 2 lenses which allow it to combine a sharp photo with a blurry one in different ways. It's not increasing depth of field, rather it's creating the illusion of a shallow depth of field. It's just a way to get around the limitation of the static lenses.
On1 has always had the capability to blur the background to increase the bokeh and create a shallower looking depth of field and you'll have way more control over it than that camera will give you.

What is cool about the Apple does it is that they use a slider button to adjust the depth of field.

As I explained, they aren't adjusting depth of field, they're adjusting depth effect. Not the same thing.
