    Hey guys,

Unfortunately we are unable to officially comment on the next generation of the Photo RAW at this time, but don't worry! You will receive some more information on the next major version in the upcoming months. The next generation of the Photo RAW will be announced and available for download later this fall.

Thanks James, just seemed a little weird to tempt new users with the promise of an update without revealing what it might contain. It sounds like buy the product just now and trust us you’ll like the next version too ;)

I don't suppose that your Plus membership is coming up for renewal or am I just a cynic? :-)

    You’re a cynic :)

Seriously though, I think it might be and while I like getting my hands on the beta versions, I don’t really exploit the other benefits of membership that much - not enough time on my hands to a degree. I might need to give some thought as to whether it’s worth it next year - depends if the upgrade and Plus membership are offered in some sort of bundle. The On1 Plus forums are an interesting read, but I’m also not sure on how these public support forums might impact that.

    Decisions, decisions...

So if we bought On1 Photo Raw 2018 earlier this summer we don't get the free upgrade?

I’m confident that if you speak nicely to On1, they might well be nice in return ;) Guess it depends on how recently you bought it and how much you paid, but they’re a company eager to please their customer base in my experience

Thinking the same as Ann, I bought my copy at end of july and now 6 weeks or so  later its been superseded , has obvious bugs and I seem to need to pay for an upgrade....really?

I am no longer willing to waste my time and money on companies like ON1 or Phase One. I'm going back to Adobe. I am very disappointed.

ON1 Photo RAW "was" great software and really great idea, but there are to much issues with cataloged folders/ drives and crop, speed........

Same here. After 2 years I don't believe in a almost bug free version 2019. I'm done.

For those of you who have given up on on1 what have you moved to...or have you just gone back to adobe?

I'm over having to pay annually for an "upgrade" for things I don't need/use.   Such as the "NEW" Portrait feature - you mean the one I still use every day in On1 10 that you subsequently dropped from your product and are now bring back as a "new" feature ??  Sick of upgrading for "speed enhancements" that aren't any quicker in my workflow than previous versions and a whole $20 off the full purchase price to upgrade after being a loyal customer for 10 years.  To be transparent I don't use On1 for editing or cataloguing, I use Bridge, Photoshop and Lightroom for that.

Watched the video re 2019 release and it looks good to me. I do appreciate what others are saying but at the end of the day it is either ON1's way or a subscription I guess. Personally I can live with either if it means keeping a good piece of software alive.

Back to the video. Was considering pre ordering but the new layers functionality looked extremely slow when processing. The presenters had to keep talking to try and hide the fact. So I have refrained for the moment just in case the software has become bloated and slow in the area of layers. If that is the case then I would rather stick with Adobe - there might be something to be said for keeping apps separate thus avoiding bloat. On the other hand the video would have been showing pre-release software (even pre beta) and the slowness might be temporary. Does anyone have some insight?

    Thanks all

Nobody with any comments on the upcoming 2019 release and the new layers module - see above?

Layers always takes a while to load up (for me anyway) as long as that Layers delay doesn't affect a single photo in Effects I'm ok with it.

It was not loading the layers module the was the issue, it was processing some layers before moving on to the next step. Took an age.
