I do see the File->Plug-in extras->Migrate catalog to ON1, but it is still the old one where copies are made with the LR adjustments, not the new migration option.

Strange - I do not even have that any more. It was there before the update.

It is mentioned in the Beta 2 release notes.

But it is also stated that:

"The migration assistant for migrating Adobe Lightroom catalogs to ON1 Photo RAW 2019 is disabled in this first prerelease build. It is something you only want to do once with your catalog and only with the final shipping version of the software."

This is all well and good, but I really wanted to try this out on my test machine to see what happens when there are edits in ON1 and also in LR. What happens? Does LR edits override those of ON1, visa-versa, or does ON1 make a copy or version?

When I asked Whitney about this, she said the migration would overwrite any On1 edits. That was a couple of weeks ago, could be different by final release.

    Thanks Rick.

So, to be on the safe side, if I have any ON1 edits I really want to keep, I will save the sidecar files and, after migration, restore them. I reckon that should work.

It might work, but if you already know which ones to save, I would just copy the photos and sidecars to a new folder and possibly rename them to keep them out of Lightrooms way. Then after migration you'll have both edits already in On1 to work with.
