Local tool doesn't work in the latest version

That was fixed in Beta 2. However I needed to do a complete uninstall of Beta 1 using 3rd party AppDelete application before installing Beta 2 to get them to work properly. Using the standard removal tool supplied with On1 wasn't enough. I assume that something I did in Beta 1 somehow stopped the styles being activated by straight upgrade to Beta 2 as other people reported that the styles just reappeared for them when they upgraded from Beta 1 to Beta 2.

I've installed beta 2 from the update menu and it overwrote beta 1. Only beta 2 shows in my program listing. (Win 10). The styles do not highlight. The local tool works ok but you have to set all the parameters you want. Hopefully when beta 3 or the final version comes out it will correct this. Other than that beta 2 works pretty good. I use Develop, 3-4 effects, and 2-3 local edits. Occasionally  some masking and all works pretty sweet. Now all I have to do is go take some photos.

The local presets don't work for me either, but more importantly when masking and all adjustments are set to 0 the image is still changing. Sometimes it looks darker, sometimes a colour cast. It's very evident when turning the adjustment on and off.

Hi Rick, did you upgrade to Beta 2 from Beta 1? If so looks like something didn't get upgraded cleanly. Having done a full delete using AppDelete and re-install of Beta 2 I got the local styles back.

I am currently running a Beta2+ build that I was supplied in response to a bug report that I submitted so might be slightly different to official Beta 2 but all the standard Styles are present and adding adjustment layers with default darken setting has no impact on the image, and neither does brushing in a local adjustment with everything set to zero. I see no change between Preview and Original (having turned off Lens adjustment to remove that change).

Apart from the fact that local adjustment White Balance controls are much coarser than in Develop Local Adjustments are now working as expected for me.

Yup, beta 2 over beta 1. The problem I see is not consistent. Sometimes it's colour, sometimes exposure, sometimes not at all, but I'm not going to fiddle with reinstalling the beta. I'll only do that with the final release if I need to.

I have now found some strange behaviour with Local Adjustments. If some local adjustments have been applied and then a new layer is added and then the mask for that layer is inverted then all the previous local adjustments get turned off, coming back when top layer mask is inverted back again.

(I sometimes prefer to see an effect on a whole area before painting it in, rather than painting something in and then tweaking the settings)

Then if settings on new layer are all set to zero then the "adjustment" is painted in then there is an adjustment applied!

I am about to try to put together something that I can do a screen recording of so that I can submit a bug report.
