RAW 2019: Text Box Functionality in Edit Mode
I am having difficulty with moving the text box after creating text on my photo. Once I click on the Text tool a text box is created. However, after adding the text there are no "handles" on the box to either resize the box or move it to the desired place in the photo. Is anyone else having this difficulty or can someone explain how the "handles" are added to the box so it can be managed?

Try clicking off the text so it's not highlighted, then click the text once. You should have handles.

Thanks for suggestion Rick, but it doesn't work for me. All my text remains stubbornly dead centre on the image. I don't get the box with handles after typing and pressing 'Return'.

Wow, i thought you had this fixed a week ago! It's nothing to do with pressing return. As i mentioned, click somewhere off the text to deselect it. When you click back it should have handles. There is nothing difficult about it, if it doesn't work easily, maybe there is a problem that you should report.

Thanks Rick,
Different David.
Still no joy. Have submitted report to Support.

Oh, sorry David, I didn't see that. Yes, text shouldn't be that difficult to move. Let us know if you find a solution.

Just click on the Text tool, click on the Text in the text box or in the text box and drag to where you want it placed. There are no handles.

Clicking on the text whether you drag it or not produces handles. If you're not getting handles, you won't be able to drag it either.

No handles for me in Win 10 ... just click and drag.

I can see the handles right there in your photo.
At least the Davids can see now what it should look like when selected.

The corners and the 4 points on the side are only for resizing not moving the box. On my app anyway.

The problem is that they can't move the text. I said if you select the text you will get handles. Didn't say you needed the handles to move the text, but if you see the handles you CAN move the text by using them. Still, these fellows can't move the text. Sorry, I appreciate the clarification that you don't need the handles to drag, but saying there are no handles is just going to confuse everyone.
Thanks for posting the photo.

I hit ESC on my keyboard when the text wouldn't show the handles to move the text box and it worked.

My problem is somewhat different. Added text to my image and moved to resize in prep to print. After sizing to print 8 X 10 my text appeared to small. l Exited back to edit mode to make type larger I was unable to select my text to change or delete. How can I delete text to replace original text at this stage?

Did you select the Text tool first? Select it then click on the text in the image. That will enable the controls to work with the text again. You may need to select the text within the text box for some of them to have an affect.

It appears that once the image has been resized the text is written in stone. Any solutions?

Yes, I missed the part where you said you resized it. Resizing does bake in all edits, cropping is permanent too. You have to go back to the raw image, make your changes, then resize again. Sorry for the confusion.

Another thought that came to mind is to remove the text from the raw image. Do the Resize saving it to a .tiff or .psd file. Set the text on the resized image, this way you won't have to guess at the proper text size to match the not yet resized image. You can then Export & overwrite the original baking in the text.

I understand. Thanks for the help. I am "baked in." Back to the editing board.

If the Text is not resizing properly along with the rest of the image, please report this to tech support.

Is there a highlighter tool so you can mark out part of a image which you can do in PS etc.
Is very valable to illustrate parts of a image or mark a route on a map etc.. ?

You can add a local adjustment layer and use paint with color then lower the opacity.
