Size of Export File
Have used ON1 for few years and it's getting better every iteration. Tried exporting a pano (from cell phone shot) out of ON1 after the develop and effects module back to files and single photo was 250+ MB. Without fussing with pixels (in Resize), is there a way to limit "file size to __ MB" out of resizing or export a la Adobe? Would be a handy feature for future (if it isn't there already). Love the new ON1 2019 thus far. Using LR less and less with each update. Thanks, Steve

There is no way to set a file size. The best you can do is find a combination in the resize options to give you something close to your goal.

Thanks Rick. Will play with pixels. Perhaps in future a new panel in resize similar to LR export.... Thx for prompt response. S

There is a free app -- IrfanView -- that allows you to control output size. (One of my professional responsibilities involves oversight of a vacation rentals website on which photos must come in under 150KB.) You might try downloading it and see if you're satisfied with how it treats your ON1-edited files. If you do, also download the separate plug-ins installation file.

Agreed. I've been using Irfanview since the first versions in 1996. I have always used it as my main photo viewer. It's free and does so many things that everyone should have it available for those quick little problems that bigger programs ignore.

If you are looking for something that will leave the image size alone (1025x768, 2048xwhatever) but want to focus on the actual hard drive file size, then look no further then this app. This is a Windows app. I discovered it when I was trying to post to a forum and they had a 1k image size limit. Free and I find it does a great job. I love Irfanview and have been using it for at least 10 years or more, but it does not give you control over file space usage unless you want to do trial and error.

I should note on how to use it.... There is a "Compress to size" box/button in the lower right under the 2nd image. Click that and enter the size you want. In the case below I told it to compress to 1000k

Irfanview doesn't offer file size control on all image types, but it does for jpg and gif. It's there in the "save as" dialog.
