I am running On1 2019 on High Sierra on one mid-2011 21.5" iMac (i5 with 20GB of RAM and an SSD drive) and one Retina Macbook Pro (Mid-2014, 2,6 Ghz Intel Core i5, SSD, 8GB) but the software is not very responsive. Simple things, such as adjusting the cropping frame, Zooming - or worse panning a zoomed out (eg. 25%) image are laggy and unresponsive. For comparison, DxO Optics Pro, Photolab 2, Affinity Photo and Luminar are all very snappy in whatever you do. Lightroom is most of the time much more responsive than On1 2019 which comes at a surprise too.
I've even tried cataloging a couple of folders (~2000 images in total) in hopes that cataloged folders are faster, but I can't perceive any difference. Almost two days running on my machine and I've noticed that On1 on the background takes between 2 to 10% of my CPU while idle. From what I see there is no catalogging/caching taking place, disk is not reading/writing and there no memory pressure (On1 takes around 1GB of RAM).
Any idea on what I could try next? Or should I accept that On1 is too much for my hardware? I'd hate to give up on On1 - it looks very capable but seems very unoptimized.
